World's Finest # 280, June, 1982

I missed this issue. This was the month I first...well...girls, you know. Ahem...That aside, I missed a pretty fair issue.

Trevor Von Eeden continues apace on Green Arrow, his style developing more and more every issue.

Kid Eternity has been brought into the SHAZAM universe.

World's Finest # 279. May, 1982

A nice old-fashioned Ross Andru cover.

Below we see the reason that the SWAMP THING comic was revived. Would we have ever had Vertigo without this low budget movie?

Good art from one of the unsung artists of the period, Keith Pollard.

World's Finest # 278, April, 1982

Wow! That is one enticing cover! Action! Color! Great layout! Hawkman's growing back story spills over into the main Superman/Batman story, well-handled by Bob Rozakis, Rich Buckler and Pablo Marcos.

By this point, Mike Barr is the Editor. Karen Berger is listed as Editorial Coordinator. Elsewhere in the issue is an ad for the return of SWAMP THING, a harbinger of what's to come once Alan Moore comes in and Karen develops what becomes Vertigo...named after the recent GA villain perhaps?

World's Finest # 277, March, 1982

Another Perez cover but Zatanna looks a little wonky. Great cover layout though.

Don Heck gets  abad rap for his later stuff but he could actually be quite good, as here with Romeo Tanghal.

World's Finest # 276, February, 1982

George Perez was particularly hot at this stage so it was cool to see this nifty Silver Age-like cover from him here on WF, even if he isn't represented inside.

Mike Barr would become one of my favorite comics writers for much of the decade.

More Barr!

Writer Paul Kupperberg would win perhaps his greatest fame as the writer of the award-winning "Married Archie" series in LIFE WITH ARCHIE a full three decades later!

Infantino! Cool! Although many feel he never quite seemed as good when he picked up his pencils again, it was still always a joy to find Carmine doing a story and this Hawkman one had some particularly good art.

According to GCD, the DC Profile below is a hoax. Here's Bob Rozakis in 2009 explaining the legend of Ted P. Skimmer-
