World's Finest # 98, December, 1958

This time we get a great Swan/Ray Burnley cover with some great Sprang/Kaye insides. The story features a Jekyll/Hyde astronaut as villain in what must be one of the earliest moon-centric tales. This type of thing would be common in the Apollo years.

BLACKHAWK was one of the titles DC picked up from rival Quality when it went out of business. The title had been Quality's best-selling ones and, in fact, one of the best-selling comics of all for a few years. So DC continued it as essentially a sci-fi title well into the sixties.

  1. Steve,
Brice Rogers would make a cameo reappearance in WF #266 (Jan 1981), when the Moonman's powers possessed another astronaut. What other moon-based villains am I forgetting?
    Thanks!
