Another interesting alternate earth story but one of the most interesting aspects of it is that, as was often the case in those heady days, Weisinger paid little to no attention to Schwartz's titles and thus was apparently oblivious to the fact that both Batman and Superman were already aware of Earth 2 more than a year earlier in JLA.
GI JOE got a big push. I even got one--the marine! Who knew he'd be around so long and evolve into another franchise that worked in comics, cartoons and live action.
Hard to explain if you weren't there but Ed "Big Daddy" Roth was as much a part of what made the sixties the sixties as Herb Alpert, CLEOPATRA and GILLIGAN'S ISLAND.
