John Prentice art. By this point, Prentice had been the longtime artist on Alex Raymond's RIP KIRBY strip in newspapers.

Since this issue would have gone on sale in July (and, in fact, I remember buying it at a Greyhound station on our summer vacation), THE MONKEES series wouldn't have even debuted as yet when the pics were taken!
