World's Finest # 37, November/December, 1948

A striking design-oriented cover for a change highlights an up and down issue. The SUPERMAN story has a great Boring splash and the BATKAN story at back has a dark and unusual Jim Mooney one.

Fans of DAYS OF ADVENTURE will perhaps recall the Novermber, 1948 issue of that other DC comic which, like this one, had an inordinate amount of coverage of baseball player Bob Feller. Here we see the same thing. Feller was part of the World Series champion Cleveland Indians that Fall but this issue would have been on the stands most likely in August.

A glorified multi-page PSA gets second spot on the bill? What were they thinking?

Babe Ruth? What about Bob Feller??

Lots of comic strip ads this issue.

Hi, Bob.

And...here he is one last time.

  1. I would have liked to see this particular Batman story in its entirety. I'm not familiar with this one.
