This issue would have come out in November of 1983, the month where I became Assistant Manager and it became obvious that bookselling would be my career for the next few decades. Another striking cover but I was busy that month and missed it.
I like Steve Mitchell's work but I don't feel his inks did Gene Colan justice here.
The character below looks to be a combination of Yoda and a Vaughn Bode lizard or frog. With the ad for RETURN OF THE JEDI just below, I will presume mainly Yoda.
