World's Finest # 48, October/November, 1950

One of my favorite covers and we seem to be starting the two decades or so of classic, inventive house ads, usually lettered by Ira Schnapp.

TON O' FUN cartoonist Harry Lampert was the first artist on The Flash and later became an internationally renowned expert on the game of bridge.

Another great house ad for a not-so-great book.

Really nicely drawn PSA by Mortimer.

  1. Yes, when it came to lettering those covers and ads (and logos) at DC, Ira Schnapp was the man! One of his quirks was his e's that looked like backward 3's.
I think he was a sign-painter before he got his DC gig...which lasted from about the beginning till 1968.
