World's Finest # 204, August, 1971

Bigger and Better! Seemed like a good idea at the time but Marvel undercut DC with a trick of their own. DC filled out the extra pages by adding backup reprints to just about everything. So WF only got to go without briefly.

This one was another "relevant" tale from Denny. It's similar to the later TERMINATOR premise only here our heroes have to SAVE someone in order to save the future. More interesting than the plot is the use of the "New" Wonder Woman. This version of WW had willingly given up her powers to take up karate and hang out with a wizened Chinese mentor with the unlikely name of I Ching.

Clark and Diana get matched by a computer dating service. Naturally, Clark wants to look his best so he trots out his gangster suit and hat.

  1. I've always wondered - were DCs attempts at"hipness"' like in the announcement of the price increase as embarrassing to young readers then as they seem to us today.? It's like your grandparents trying to sound cool!

  2. I do miss those good old days when they would at least apologise (in both senses of the word) for increasing their price!
